Please join as a Lifetime Member and we will place your 'Surrogate Wanted' or 'Interested in Chatting about Surrogacy' Message on the boards. You can also ask to be connected with any of our listed potential surrogates.
Please note that we cannot verify anything stated, nor are Surrogacy Sisters involved in anything that happens once you have connected. We offer an online meeting place for people interested in alternative parenting choices
Special Note re Australia Pages
Surrogacy Sisters tries to offer choices. However it is apparently illegal to advertise to be a surrogate- or that you need a surrogate -even if the act itself is legal (?) - in states other than NSW. As far as we are aware it is legal to enter into a surrogacy arrangement (altristic) in all states.
If you therefore live in other states we can therefore only allow you to place messages letting others know you are interested in this subject unless you state that you live in NSW. People may offer help and advice regarding surrogacy in your state- and at least you can gain some useful information etc.
The following are interested in chatting about surrogacy within Australia.

Message: I want to help a couple have a child. I have no children of my own and don't intend to have any in the next few years. If I could choose my perfect couple it would be a loving gay pair (though I am open to being a surrogate for a hetero couple) who would be able to provide love and nourishment to the child. They would have to be willing to pay for all doctors visits, and if the child was a part of me (If they used my eggs)I would want to recieve pictures as the child grew, ultimatley that would be the parent's decision though.
I know I am only young, but my body is at a perfect age to bear children, and I feel that I should use my body to give the gift of a child to someone who's body may not be able to bear children.
I really feel like this is something God has called me to do. I hope a lovely couple contacts me, and I can help them create a beautiful baby.

SurrogateMessage: I have been interested in being a surrogate since I realised what it was at about 18/19. Have always known I could help as long as I had my own child first, and I do. My daughter is 7 and I'm not planning anymore so thought now might be the time to help someone else realise their dream. I'm 31, non-smoker and in good health. At this time I don't think I would be able to handle an egg donation but definitely open to chatting about surrogacy.

SurrogateMessage:
dear IP,
i would essentially like to be able to help a gay couple to become my IP's
my reasons for wanting to be a surrogate are not only to give a couple the joy of being able to start a family of there own but i understand the pain of wanting something so badly and not being able to achieve it , a very close friend of mine struggled for years to be able to have children , she now has 2 gorgeous boys who were born through surrogacy and i could not imagine her and her husbands life with out them , to be able to give this gift to another couple would be amazing, i have a very close friend who is gay and i see him struggle also with the desire for a baby i feel for a gay couple it would be a lot harder to find a surrogate within Australia and it's something id really love to be able to do
good luck on your search for your surroangel

Message: Life is precious...and short. I have the ability to help give this gift to someone special and this I very much want to do, and will when I find the right couple.
To avoid disappointment I just want to be straight up and honest about the couple I am looking to share this dream with. I am looking for a heterosexual couple that are using their own sperm & egg. I am not against gay/lesbian couple having children, this is about what im comfortable with when it comes to bringing a child into the world through my womb. Thank you for respecting my wishes.
I am in my mid 20s and have the most amazing (and sometimes crazy) two year old twin boys. They were conceived naturally, were carried to the normal 38 weeks and were delivered naturally. It is my wish to give birth in this same way, of course should the need for intervention or emergency c-sec become clear then the safety of myself and the baby is always my priority.
I had an easy pregnacy, my labour was straighforward, it was the most liberating and amazing experience of my life. I love being a mother (most of the time) and I am completely satisfied with my own two children and have no desire to give them a sibling. I want to closely share this experience with both the IP's. I need them to feel comfortable with me that this is their pregnancy too!
Counselling is a must, I think it is important that both parties are comfortable and are fully informed of all aspects of the surrogacy prior to any big decisions i.e lets do it! Ideally you would be local to me. I am not comfortable having IP's long distance.
I cant wait to share all the precious moments with an amazing much deserving couple.
Please note I am studying til the end of 2012. I would not be looking to be pregnant until mid 2012.
Talk soon xx

Work/Career: I am currently a Stay at home mum, to 2 young children.
Interests: Photography, Sewing, Drawing .. Anything crafty :)
Message: I am a young, single mum of 2 young kids. I am so blessed to have them and couldnt imagine life without them. Recently, after watching an episode of Find My Family, My thoughts led to parents who were unable to have children. In my case I fell pregnant very easily, and their father isnt around, and I didnt even try. Im not saying I dont want them, I do , with all my heart, but I really feel for couples who cannot have children. I then got to thinking what I could do to help. Could I donate an egg? No. Ad delfish as it is, I KNOW I could not cope with that emotionally. But I loved my pregnancy and I loved my labour, and if i could go through that and give someone the greatest gift ever, then why
shouldnt I?
Anyway, enough of my rambling, If theres anything you want to know, then please, ask! :)

We are Interested in Surrogacy- So How Do
We Do This?
In traditional surrogacy (also known as the Straight method) the surrogate is pregnant with her own biological child, but this child was conceived with the intention of relinquishing the child to be raised by others such as the biological father and possibly his spouse or partner. The child may be conceived via sexual intercourse (NI), home artificial insemination using fresh or frozen sperm or impregnated via IUI (intrauterine insemination), or ICI (intra cervical insemination) which is performed at a Fertility Clinic.
Sperm from the male partner of the 'commissioning couple' may be used, or alternatively, sperm from a sperm donor can be used. Donor sperm will, for example, be used if the 'commissioning couple' are both female or where the child is commissioned by a single woman.
To find a sperm donor privately visit FSDW (Free Sperm
Donations Worldwide)
In gestational surrogacy (aka the Host method) the surrogate becomes pregnant via embryo transfer with a child of which she is not the biological mother. She may have made an arrangement to relinquish it to the biological mother or father to raise, or to a parent who is unrelated to the child (e. g. because the child was conceived using egg donation, sperm donation or is the result of a donated embryo). The surrogate mother may be called the gestational carrier. Find a Fertility Clinic
Is there Money Involved in Surrogacy?
Altruistic surrogacy is a situation where the surrogate receives
no financial reward for her pregnancy or the relinquishment of the child (although usually all expenses related to the pregnancy and birth are paid by the intended parents such as medical expenses, maternity clothing, and other related expenses).
Commercial surrogacy is a form of surrogacy in which a gestational carrier is paid to carry a child to maturity in her womb and is usually resorted to by higher income infertile couples who can afford the cost involved or people who save and borrow in order to complete their dream of being parents. This procedure is legal in several countries including in India where due to high international demand and ready availability of poor surrogates it is reaching industry proportions. Commercial surrogacy is sometimes an emotionally charged and contentious ethical issue.
To find out if commercial surrogacy is legal in your country please see the links to the right of this page, or click here and

Queensland Passes New Surrogacy Laws - June 2010

Under new laws in effect next year, altruistic surrogacy will no longer be a criminal offence, however, surrogacy for payment or financial benefit will still remain illegal.
Significantly, altruistic surrogacy will not be limited to opposite-sex couples, giving the green light to gay couples who wish to start a family. More from this story

Legalities of Surrogacy
The legal aspects surrounding surrogacy are very complex and mostly unsettled. There is a default legal assumption in
most countries that the woman giving birth to a child is that child's legal mother. In some jurisdictions the possibility of surrogacy has been allowed
and the intended parents may be recognized as the legal parents from birth.
Many states now issue
pre-birth orders through the courts placing the name(s) of
the intended parent(s) on the birth certificate from the start.
In others the possibility of surrogacy is either not recognized (all contracts specifying different legal parents are void), or is prohibited.
We therefore suggest that
you seek legal advice regarding the laws in your country / state
The following information is provided to offer an overview
of the current available information however I do not claim to have any legal training or be a specialist in surrogacy law. As such I have also provided links to surrogacy law specialists around the world so that you can get professional advice relating to your circumstances.
I hope you find them useful!
Please do let me know how
you get on
Em:-)
The Commonwealth Government of Australia cannot universally legislate for reproductive technology practice. Therefore each state and territory is responsible for designing and implementing separate legislation. This has resulted in laws and practices that differ from state to state.
Please do obtain legal advice before entering into a surrogacy arrangement of any kind within Australia

Surrogacy New Zealand
The most important provision in the ADOPTION ACT 1955 is section 25, which states that, unless the court consents to it,
it is illegal for any person to
give or receive, or to agree to give or receive, any payment
or reward in consideration of
the adoption or proposed adoption of a child or in consideration of arranging an adoption or proposed adoption.
A major issue for the parties
to a surrogacy arrangement involving payment of money
will therefore be whether the arrangement breaches section 25. This is a question that
will be decided by a court on
the basis of the particular circumstances of each case. However, the courts have been willing to find that a surrogacy arrangement does not breach this section.
Also note that although
Section 26 of the Act states that it is illegal to publish an advertisement indicating:
- that the parent or guardian of a child desires to adopt out the child, or
- that any person desires to adopt a child, or
- that any person or organisation is willing to arrange for a child to be adopted
that, again, the courts have been willing to hold that this section will not apply to a surrogacy arrangement.
Please do obtain legal advice before entering into a surrogacy arrangement of any kind within New Zealand

Surrogacy within the UK
The law in the United Kingdom stipulates that surrogacy is illegal if money changes hands. However the reverse side of the coin is that if woman A volunteers to carry a child for woman B without taking money from her this is fine. That said there are no agencies in the United Kingdom who would broker or arrange the meeting of two such women- and this is where we hope to fill the gap.
There are also support groups who can offer help and advice on the subject but cannot and do not offer to make introductions between those able to have children and those wanting to have children.
Please do obtain legal advice before entering into a surrogacy arrangement of any kind within the UK

Surrogacy Worldwide
India is emerging as a leader
in international surrogacy and
a destination in surrogacy-related fertility tourism.
Indian surrogates have
been increasingly popular
with fertile couples in industrialized nations because
of the relatively low cost.
Indian clinics are at the same time becoming more
competitive, not just in the pricing, but in the hiring
and retention of Indian
females as surrogates.
Clinics charge patients for a complete package, including fertilization, the surrogate's fee, and delivery of the baby at a hospital. Including the costs of flight tickets, medical procedures and hotels, it comes to
roughly a third of the price compared with going through the procedure in the UK.
Surrogacy in India is relatively low cost and the legal environment is favorable. In 2008, the Supreme Court of India in the Manji's case has
held that commercial surrogacy
is permitted in India. That has again increased the
international confidence in
going in for surrogacy in India.
